Affiliate Sales Reporting System
We now have a basic but useful affiliate plan that costs you no further commissions to ourselves..
Imagine that you sell a program that other people may wish to sell on their websites for a commission. You tell them that if they manage to have someone order via their website you will pay them $x for each sale.
We have now provided the infrastructure for you to do this.
Here is how it works:
You pass the affiliate the same URL as you use now for people to purchase your program but with the variable a=fred12 added to the command line or PUT statement (where fred12 is the affiliate's name or code that you have invented). Note the URL must be one of those going to the shopping cart via https://usd.swreg.org/cgi-bin/s.cgi?
You determine what the value of the variable is so you might have a cgi program on your own website creating a database of affiliate's names and addresses and issuing the URLs with personalised "a=" variables according to some rule of your own.
A typical URL might be - replace 'usd' with 'gbp' or 'euro' as appropiate in all these links:

The first time someone creates an order using the URL with such a variable we automatically open a new account for the affiliate concerned at :-

His login is whatever you have entered as a= and so is his password so for the example above it would be login = charlie99 and password=charlie99. He can change his password once he has his first order and can access his admin area.
If he tries to access the admin page before any sales are made at all he will simply get a page explaining he has made an error with his login or password or that he has yet to sell anything. Our system will not notify him of any sales (as we do not know who he is) but future releases will be able to do this.
The final page shows the following information to the affiliate between any two dates he determines:
- Time and Date
- Order number
- Company or customer name
- Product name and code
- Gross value of sale
Reporting
Your existing tab delimited report will show any sales broken down by affiliate so you will be able to analyse the sale in a spreadsheet or database manager.

This would be a click-through URL and the web server "learns" the A0000 associate code.
Surf around the site and it "sticks" in the URL. All the internal links are intelligent and remember the code.
Press "Buy now" at the top and see the box picture. Press "Continue". SWREG learns the code and automatically says "Promotion code 10% discount"
Resetting Passwords
Affiliates can change their own passwords.
The vendor can reset his own affiliate's passwords either from the "Show Orders" page in his administration area or as follows:
/cgi-bin/afil-reset.cgi?s=2&p=slave&a=123
Where s = shop number (not login), p = shop login password, a = affiliate id. This will reset the affiliate password to match the affiliate login (they will both become the same). Do not pass this string to anyone else as it contains your shop password. Replace 'usd' with 'gbp' or 'euro' as appropiate
We can pay your affiliates
Please log in to your SWREG control panel and select "Pay Third Parties". You can pay other people by ACH, BACS, local cheque in over 30 currencies, wire transfer in any currency, another SWREG account or Paypal. This can be done by manual entry or using a batch file.
Payments must be set up by Monday night for payment requests each Tuesday or they get added to the following week's batch
You will need to change your account to "Manual Payments" to avoid all your money being sent to you before you can pay other people.
